Inframammary Incision In a small number of cases where the areola is very small, the doctor makes an incision at the crease below the breast. This approach may be suitable with the most complicated breast augmentations or for women who had previous breast surgery.

Q: How long will it take for swelling to subside? A: Many patients go back to work one to two weeks after having surgery. Some people may notice swelling of the affected area and others may not.
